I was in Austin for the last couple of weeks, hiding from Hurricane Ike, and I'm very happy to report that " . . . if you listen to the wind, you can still hear him play" when you're walking around there :-D! Rock on, Stevie! (I recommend Eric Tessmer, if you're going to Austin any time soon; he plays very much in Vaughn's style.)

I didnt mean just the blues scales, I dont how long you've been playing if you take lessons or anything. Just a good practice for all players and a great warmup is just to play the notes chromatically (ascending notes in a row) its not really a scale. 1st fret, 2nd fret, 3rd fret,4th fret on low E then 1,2,3,4 on A 1,2,3,4 fret on D. you can even look for for exercise and practice vids on youtube, there are a lot of great ones.

Dear Fellows,
Can't we all get along. I'm a 57 year old Christian and have seen Jimi Hendrix play live on 4 different occasions and love his music til this day...being from Memphis...most all the greats came here.
As far if Jimi is in heaven...I hope so...but there is a caveat...must accept Christ's free gift. Also, the wine was alcoholic.
thankx

thanks alot but do you know if running up and down the blues scales to metronome and slowly increase the pace would be productive? |
